As a most modern ski resort, Madonna di Campiglio is made up of mostly new buildings and has little to offer those seeking diversion other than winter sports, shopping, and nightlife. After an exhausting ski activities however, most of the visitors want just to relax but those with an itch for artwork can visit the Chiesa di San Virgilio in nearby Pinzolo where a 16th-century depiction of The Dance of the Dead creates an interesting façade.

Events

As a purely a skier's destination Madonna di Campiglio can offer non-skiers great night-life, good restaurants, plenty of boutiques and spas. The resort also offers different amusing events such as the Carnevale brimming with fun. It takes place every February with grand balls and costumed revelry. This feast is celebrated throughout northern Italy, most notably in Venice, and Madonna di Campiglio holds its own events related to the event.

Madonna di Campiglio was one of the world's first resorts to believe in the future of snowboarding. In 1999, the valley hosted the FIS Snowboard World Championships, and since then the area resorts have been developing specialized tracks and lifts for this attractive sport.

Night skiing

Each weekend the lower slopes of Madonna's World Cup 3-Tre racecourse, while Folgarida are lit up for night skiing. In Marilleva which is 12 kilometers away the ski stadium at the Biancaneve also offers such opportunities.

Cross-country skiing

Campo Carlo Magno lies just two miles away and maintains 15 kilometers of well-known expert-level trails. Pinzolo, which is nine miles away, also offers some trails of varying difficulty, for a total of 51 kilometers of maintained trails throughout the region.

Ice Climbing

Ice climbing

The Cima Presanella offers the best ice-climbing opportunities in the area. Its large north face provides classic climbs and a few challenges such as the Via del Seracco and Via Anna e Mario.

Tubing,tobogganing,sledding

Great fun not only for children, but for their parents as well. There are shorter routes for sledding children and longer routes for their speed-loving adults.

Ice Skating,ice Hockey

Centro di Pattinaggio in Madonna offers splendid opportunities for wintertime ice skating in an outdoor rink. It is open 24 hours a day and holds three sessions each day. Rentals and lessons are available.
